Newport News. Va., June 5.—James
Blanton, ft wealthy planter of New
Kent county, dropped dead suddenly
while trying to kill his wife yesterday.
Ulonton, who was 75 years of age,
had been mentally unbalanced partially
for several years. When Mrs. Blanton
handed her husband a glass of water
upon request, the man threw the gob
let at her hend. The woman ran from
the room In alarm with Blanton behind
her. He fell to the floor as he was
i rousing the doorelll, expiring a few
moments thereafter.

Luck Hill, a railroad man of Smyrna,
who came to Atlanta Sunday to accept
