The fact that Mrs. M. D. Burnley,

r. 1 and killed early Friday night by a
bullet Intended for another.
Three bullets whlssed by close to
Mrs. Burnley, one of them passing just
over her body. Had she not fallen to
the floor this bullet would have struck
her In the side and might have pro
duced Instant death.
The shots were Intended for Ida
Wlmhush, of 88 East Cain street, a ne
gro dressmaker, and are said to have
been flred by Dicey Parks, another ne
gro woman, residing next door to the
dressmaker, tine of the bullets struck
the Wlmhush woman In the thigh and
made a serious wound.
At the time of the shooting Mrs.
Burnley was having a dress fltted by
the Wlmbush woman. The shots were
flred from a dark window tn the home
of Dicey Parks and passed through a
w indow of the other house. At the first
report Mrs. llurnley tried to get out of
the way uml as she did so, stumbled
nnd fell to the floor. Two other shots
were flred In rapid succession, one of
the bullets narrowly missing Mrs.
Burnley and the other taking effect In

“I will say. however, that I find few

The necessity for the national divorce
law contemplated by the department of

recently In the superior court of Fulton
county, when. In two different cases, the
divorces secured In other states were
questioned under the Georgjftjnwa, and
one man found himself the husband of
two wives ns the result of discrepancies
In the divorce law of Illinois and tho
