A wedding of Interest to a wide circle
of friends In Savannah and Atlanta
was the marriage of MUs Rheta Her-
vey, of Savannah, to Mr. Rees Mar
shall, of Atlanta. Th* wedding took
place Saturday at high noon at the
residence of Mr. and Mrs. Prank Arden,
on East Thirty-seventh street In Sa
vannah, and, owing td the recent Ill-
news of the bride, woe a quiet event,
witnessed only by the relatives end In
timate friends of the young couple. To
the strains of Ixihengrln’s wedding
inarch the bride came down the spa
cious stairway with her mother, and
was met In the hallway by the groom
and hie beat man, Mr. James Owlnga,
of Atlanta. The bridal party proceeded
to the long drawing room, where the
Impressive ceremony woe performed by
Rev. Charles H. Strong before an Im
provised altar of palms and ferns.
The bride was lovely In her smart
traveling gown of blue checked voile,
with blouse of white mcssatlne satin
and lace. Her hat was a blue straw
trimmed with plumes, and the bridal
bouquet wa* of bride roses and lilies of
the valley.
Mrs. Hervey wore a becoming gown
of blue crepe de chine, fashioned with
cream lac*.
The home of Mr. and Mrs. Arden,
uncle end aunt of th* bride, was lav
ishly decorated for the occasion, which
■narked also th* twentieth anniversary
of their marriage. The color scheme
was white and green, and a profusion
of white carnations and asparagus fern
combined effectively with aeporagus
and maidenhair fern. Great bowls and
vases of these lovely flowers occupied
every available spot throughout the
lower floor.
The ceremony was followed by an
elegant buffet luncheon, after which
Mr. and Mrs. Marshall took the train
for the East.
Mrs. Arden's brnutlful gown was a
lingerie one of white chiffon cloth and
luce.
Mrs. T. L. O’Connor, of Providence,
R. 1., wore an elaborate gown of black
marquisette.
Mias Banlgan was attractive In i
costume of white silk, effectively trim-
mod with blue, and Miss Jullen Perdue,
of Atlanta, another visitor, was be
comingly gowned In white mull and
lace.
Mre. C. V. Del,nach, of Mlllen, was
handsomely gowned In a smart morn
tng suit of white.
After June 26, Mr. and Mrs. Marshall
will be at home to their friends hero on
North avenue. Mrs. Marshall has fre
quently visited Atlanta, having been
the admired guest on several occasion!

Is one of the most popular member* of
the young society set, and has many
friend* who will accord hi* bride a

RECEPTION AT KENILWORTH INN.
The feature on Saturday of a social
nature pertaining to th* Y. \V. C. A.
conference being held at Kenilworth
Inn, will be a reception which will en
able town people to meet their friends
among the visitors. The affair will be

pleasure, coming a* a recreation after
a week of hard work. The beautiful
parlors and reception rooms of the Inn
will be used. These are decorated with
emblems, pennants, photographs, etc.,
which were put up by the students.
Saturday there will be added a profu
sion of wild flowers and ferns which
grow luxuriantly In the Inn grounds.
Music will also he one of trie attrac
tions at the reception. When the routine
work Is over each day the attendants
at the convention take walks and drives
through the country or come Into town
to visit the shops and slght-srelng, each
one making It a point to return to the
Inn In time for the Impressive vesper
service which I* held on the lawn.—

He Is a member of th# Gilbert Hard
ware Company, of this city, and has

Dublin from Atlanta. He takes a great
deal of Interest In all public matters

D. A. R. CELEBRATE FLAG DAY.
On Friday the members of the At
lanta chapter of th* D. A. R. gathered
at the home of their regent, Mrs.
Thomas Morgan, for the celebration of
flag day. The program rendered was
a charming one, and opened with a
most Interesting paper by Mrs. W. P.
Pnttlllo, In which she gave the history
of the flag from 1777 to the present
day. Mlsa Josephine Stoney read the
assay which won for her this year the
medAl given at the Washington Semi
nary annually by the Atlanta chapter In
memory of Mrs. Alice E. Chandler.
Mrs. R. B. Blackburn recited charm
ingly and Miss Georgia Watts, accom
panied by Mlsa Gertrude Westmore
land, sang delightfully. A happy fea
ture of the afternoon was the talk
made by Sirs. Robert Emory Park, who
told Interestingly of Georgia day at the
Jamestown exposition.
Mrs. Morgan's home was beautifully
decorated with flags, and with sweet
peas which carried out the national
