An announcement that the Jews of
Atlanta desire to take some part In the
Wesley Memorial enterprises was made
by Professor Julius McGath, mission
ary to the Hebrews, at the meeting of
the Methodist ministers Monday morn
ing.
"The Jews feel that they have been
negleoted In this matter," said Profes
sor McGath, "but, nevertheless, they
wish to help you In making a success,
and want to have some Interest In
both the church and the hospital which
you Intend to build.
"I have talked to many of them and
they wish to donate a bed In the hos
pital, which, I understand, will cost
about $5,000. If they do not do this,
they will furnish a room for the hos
pital."
Professor McGath was assured that
It wae not the purpose of those having
the matter In charge to neglect the He
brews, and that any donation they de-
sire to make will be gladly accepted.

The funeral services of G. P. Beaty,
aged 38 years, who died Saturday aft
ernoon at his residence at Chamblee,
Do Kalb county, after an Illness of four
days, were conducted Sunday ufternoon
at 4 o’clock. The interment was at
Prospect church. He is survived by Ills
wife and five children.

FIFTH REGIMENT
HOME FROM FAIR
The Fifth Regiment arrived at home
from Jamestown Sunday afternoon,
coming In two sections at 3 and
o'clock.
The boys were all tired out from the
long trip, but otherwise were happy
and In fine shape. Colonel Anderson
stated that there was no sickness and
no mosquitoes, but the rsmp provided
was not the best In the world.
There was a great deal of mud and
water, but as It rained most of the
time this could not be very well helped
After the regiment was moved from the
grounds to the Bear Island camp the
regular army provided planking for the
tents to rest on,
Rome, Llndale and Ced&rtown com
panies went on at once to their homes.
