Conner, chairman of the board of trustees of the Agricultural College, submitted his report, which covered the period since the establish ment of the department. These plans and specifica tions for the building the board ap proved nnd directed the architect to ob tain from contractors bids for the con struction of the building to accord fully wltn these plans nnd specifications. ••Quite n number of bids were ob tained and after consldertngr them we awarded the contract to h. M. C. A. It was decided by the University Alumni Society yesterday to build the University Alumni Y. M. C. A. hall to cost $100,000. Instead of $75,0000. as had been planned. Two years ago the Alumni 8oclety resolved to Mevote Its $40,000 to this purpose If the Y. M. C. A. people of the state would raise $35,000 in two years. The Y. M. C. A. people were ready with their subscription and had $6,500 more than was required of them The fund amounting to $81,600. the so- until the sum should reach $>00,000. In the course of his report, 8tate Secretary Rend, of the Y. M. C. A., said: "The seven large cities of Georgia are represented by subscriptions as fol lows: Athens (including faculty). $5,- 662; Atlanta, $15,240; Augusta, $2,000; Columbus. $1,690; Macon, $780; Rome, $1,705: Savannah. $976." After the rending of the report, Hon. Clark Howell Introduced the following resolution, which was adopted: "Resolved. That the thanks of the alumni, the trustees, the faculty and the student body are due to the state executive committee. Young Men’s Christian Association of Georgia, for the campaign which they have Just closed for the.Y, M.-C.
