telegraphers' strike yesterday. Business
Is at least forty-eight hours behind

co and Oakland are being worked night
and day In an effort to get rid of some
of the two or three days' old business,
but with a force of operators consist

of George C. Catea, an eminent Baptist

Macon. Ga., July l.—The remainder
of the docket of the June term of the
city court was taken up this morning
by Judge Robert Hodges, and court
will be In session until all of the cases
have been heard.
There atlll remains sixty-seven cases
to be heard, and It will be some time
before court closes.
Judge Hodges, who has been In poor
health for the past several weeks, has
returned to Macon from Indian Springs,
where he went for n short rest, and Is
feeling much Improved.

camp Ore reunion of the ex-members
of the Floyd Rifles will take place on
Tuesday, July 9. and will be held at
the North Highlands Park.
For many years these ex-members
get together and relate their expert
ences. The gathering promises to be
one of the largest held In recent years
and great preparations are now being
made.

death of Mrs. J. D. Marshall, of Elko,
Ga. Mrs. Marshall has been ill for
some time, and her death was unex
pected and a great shock to her man)

and visited relatives In this city fre
quently. W. A. and D. W. Jeter, of
Macon, are brothers of Mrs. Marshall
and have left for Elko, to attend the
funeral services that were held this
mornlpg at 10 o'clock. The Interment
was made In the family burying ground.

young Indies will graduate as trained
nurae* from the Macon city hospital.
There will be appropriate exercises on
that date and a program of Interest
Is being arranged. Dr. Eugene Elder,
general superintendent of the hospital,

and refinement at the hospital.

their offices this week.

NATIONAL CONVENTION.

will leave thie city on July 18, In a
special coach for Philadelphia, to at
tend the national convention of Elks.
They will stay In the Quaker City ten
days, and then will take a trip to New
York. Washington, Baltimore anil will
also visit the Jamestown Exposition.

Nichols, aged 80 years, died yesterday
