siding at 310 Chapel street, was traced
for half a mile early Wednesday morn-
Ing by his crutch prints In the earth
and was Anally taken Into custody by
Policemen Pearson and Brannan.
Tho woman, Lula Ragland, died sud
denly at her home a few minutes after
being struck by her husband. David
Ragland, her 18-year-old aon, was Jhe „
only eye witness. He says his father
came home about midnight drinking
and began to quarrel with his wife. Ha
slnpped her several times, the hoy
states, and Anally struck her In the
abdomen with his Ust, after which he
left. Shortly afterward the women fall
dead.
Police Sergeant Poole was notlAed
agd put Officers Pearson and Brannan
on the trail. They followed Ragland
by means of the crutch prints and
found him at the home of his father In
Colliers alley.
