A Joint meeting of council and the
board of county commissioners for the
purpose ot discussing the advisability
and tho practicability of Immediately
completing th. new reservoir at tho
waterworks station will be held at 9
O'clock Friday afternoon.
Mayor Joyner has addressed a com
munication to Colonel Clifford L. An
derson, chairman of the board ot
county commissioners, asking that
such a Joint meeting be held, and sug
gesting Friday afternoon at I o'clock
as tho time.
Colonel Anderson received tbs com
munication Tuesday morning and Im
mediately began telephoning the com
missioners. Colonel Anderson notified
the mayor that the board would meet
with council at the time named

wedding of James R. Duke, ths tobacco
millionaire, to Mrs. Nanatlne llolt In
man, tbs famous Atlanta beauty, In
Brooklyn, yesterday, Mr. and Mrs
Duke, accompanied by Mrs. Holt nnd
Walter Inmnn, left In a motor car for
Duke farm, nt Somerville. N, J. They |
will remain there only a short time,
however, as extensive alterations are
being made In the house at the bride’s
suggestion.
■Mr. Duko has completed arrange
ments for doubling his 2,000-nero es
tate. The remodeling of the famous
hnrhelor club house Is already under
way. When completed tho house will
bo worth many thousands of dollnrs.

more beautiful mansion is being built.

newly-married couple will spend most

famous animal trainer, proposes to ed
ucate dogs "while you wait" at every
performance at the theater this week.
