Woman Dies Suddenly.

Macon, Oa., July 25.—Mrs. Nora
Souther, aged 15 yeare, died yesterday
very suddenly at her home, on Main
street, Bait Macon. She had been In
poor health for about a week, but sev-
eral hours before her death, had stated
that she was feeling better than she
hail In a long time. The body was
shipped to James, Ga., where tho fu
neral services and Interment will take
place.

the Atlanta Federation of Trades at
a meeting at the Federation hall, on
North Forsyth street, Wednesday
night. He succeeds W. C. Puckett.

ed for another term of alx months:

cording and corresponding secretary.
A resolution was adopted, condemn
ing a hill now pending In the legisla

Women Attacked By Negro.
Lynchburg, Va.. July 25.—At Lynchs,
In Campbell county, the houee of Mrs.
Sue Hogan, a widow, was entered by a
negro, who attacked her and fled. A

groes arrested, but Mrs. Hogan failed
to Identify them and all but one, Bel
Collins, who Uvea In the town, were
discharged.

Macon, Ga., July 26.—Seven press
men, all employed In the printing shop
of E. J. Burke & Co., walked out
of the shop yesterday morning on
etrlko because one of the men had been
discharged. Mr. Burke has stated that
hs Is now making arrangements for
new men from out of the city, whe will
arrive In several days, and he will not
take back any of the men who walked
out.
Will Hold Tent Meetings.

Macon, Go., July 25.—Commencing
next Monday, the Methodist churches
In Macon will hold large tent meetings.
These meetings are to be held all over
the city, first In one section and then
the tent to be moved to r uher, until
tho entire city haa been covered.
Little Girl Diee.

Macon, Go., July 26.—After an Illness
of two weeks, Florence W. Edna Mitch
um. the l-year-old daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. J. E. Mltchum, died yesterday aft
ernoop, at the. family residence, 420

Funeral of Mrs. Ray.

Macon, Go.. July 15.—The funeral
services of Mrs. Sarah A. Ray, aged
71 years, who died at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. E. J. Wylie, In Mont
gomery, Ala., were held yesterday
evening at Rose Hill cemetery, Rev
B. Douglass, pastor of the First P
byterlan church, conducted the ser
vices. Mrs. Ray was the widow of the
lata Harris Ray, who for a number of
yeare was a resident of Macon.

So hot was Wednesday that In a
crate of eggs which was being driven
along the streets at noon, seven little
chlckles were hatched, to the astonish
ment of the man who bought the crate,
the man who sold It and the driver who
sat upon it during the evolution from
eggs to cblckena. The seven live and
scratching biddies, brought Into this
world In such an unusual way. bid fair
to grow Into healthy domestic fowls.
Old residents declare they never heard
the like.
The eggs were bought by an Atlanta
retailer from Tennessee and sent
through a produce Jobber. They came
by freight, spending Sunday, Monday,
Tuesday and part of Wednesday on the
way. It waa hot, and down In the crate
