Board Recommends Train
ing School For High
; f School Boys.
Twelve supernumerary teacher* were
elected by the board of Education
Thursday.
They are Misses Bessie Bailey, Cath
erine Crate, Marlon Holsenbeck, Iluth
Kellogg, Esther Lyon. Marguerite Mil
ler, Ollle May Osborn, Nellie Orr, Mae
Richardson, Roberta Zachry, Kutle Os-
mer and Mary Bob Huson.
Miss May Hill was transferred from
th* seventh grade of the Crew Street
school to the Girls' High School.
Miss Jesste Muse, upon request, was
granted leave of absence for the scho
lastic year 1107-1908.
The board of education woe nodded
that the University of Georgia hoe
granted a scholarship good for one yoai
to the first honor gradual* of the Boys'
High School each year.
The board of education Thursday
afternoon adopted a resolution recom
mending to council that a technological
school be erected on the grounds of the
Boys' High School.
Council will be urged to make the
appropriation necessary to do this
work. R Is the Intention of the board
to have such a school and to devote It
entirely to the technological students.
Misses Sergeant and Mugs reported
that the work of the summer normal
school, which has just closed, was sat
isfactory. President Raster was
pleased that the work had been eo
satisfactory. ...

TWO NEGROES KILLED;

were killed here Wednesday night—one
for his money and one about a woman.

peated murders, assassinations and
fiendish attacks upon girls and children

when a man slashed the face of John

pairing a car, the crowd pursued the
slasher, who, terrified at the cries of
"Lynch him," Jumped off a pier In East
river and was drowned.

DUELISTS WOUNDED

Heard and John Thomas, of the South's
oldest families, engaged In a duel under
