“Haunted House" were explained and
visited, all went to the theaters, and
then to the refreshment pavilion, where
Mr. Copeland acted as host, and where
Professor Wedemeysr's band rendered
stveral beautiful selections.
Next In order waa the Circle Swing,
jut attraction that all enjoyed. An In
vitation to the Cave of the Winds was
received, but as It was growing lets
and the old ladles were growing tired,
they left this for another visit, and
slowly retraced their steps to the en
trance gate. Seeing the little train so
Important In Its small way. It was
with regret they were ptselng It by.
When the engineer assured them thqt
all was In readiness and promising a
safe and prompt return, the coaches
were soon filled and all started on the
McCarthy Special" for a trip around
.he beautiful lake with Its wc
willows, swans and many boats,
was the first trip In a train some of
the ladles had had In many years, so
what cared they, as they did not wish
to leave the city. If their trip was short
and the engine small?
With many thanks to Mr. Puckett,
Mr. Copeland and owners of attrac
tions, whose kindness was appreciated
by all. the ladles said good-bye and
the afternoon will be remembered and
talked of at the homo. As It was
growing dark, the thousands of bright
lights were turned on, making It seem
a fairy land. A car was found watt
ing at the gate and soon the old ladles
were comfortably seated and the home
ward Journey began. The conductors
and motormen on outgoing and return
ing trips by their careful and courteous
attentions to the aged women added
to ths enjoyment of a delightful after-
nnon. AN INVITED QUEST.
