Macon, Go., July 81.—Three young men, Hugh Smith, Floyd Hightower and Charles Bush, of Dublin, are be ing held In the city barracks charged with horse stealing. The three came to Macon several days ago, and were driving a horse and buggy belonging to W. W. Bush, father of young Bush. Macon, Ga., July 31.—Quite an ad vance waa made In the fruit shipping business In Georgia yesterday, as the day'a output amounted to 83 cars. This spurt brought up the total shipments for the season to 1,248 cars, and many of the commission men and growers have now good reasons to believe that the total shipments will be closer to 1,600 cars than 1,200. Macon, Ga., July 31.—Claiming that he Was set upon yesterday and brutally beaten with a large stick by Mrs. Ma mie Oates, an Inmate of the Roff Home, Henry Stephenson, an epileptic, who was formerly an inmate of the home, but who claims that he was driven away by Superintendent W. T. Wat son, swore out a warrant against the woman. / Stephenson exhibited his bare back to Attorney Oliver Hancock, whom he has employed In tho case, showing great welts, evidently caused by some heavy Instrument. THREE YEARS' SENTENCE FOR CAR BREAKERS. Speels! to The Georgian. 1 Macon, Ga., July 31.—Several car- breokjng rases came before Judge Fel- tonj yesterday in the superior court. Miles Lyons and Lucius Bell were tried for breaking Into a car on the Georgia railroad. They pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor and were sentenced to serve twelve months or pay a fine of 8125. Son Dorsey and Will Harris were found guilty of car-breaking and were ecntenced to eerve three years In the penitentiary. Henry Holt was found guilty of steal ing 200 pounds of coal from the Em pire Coal Company, by which he was employed and was sentenced to serve twelve months. Gcno Redding was found guilty of assault with Intent to kill, upon the person of Robert Jackson, and was sentenced to servo twelve months or pay a fine of 8100. More than 3100 worth of fines waa paid Into the city yeaterday. One negro waa charged with disorderly conduct and fined 8100 or thirty day*. He paid his fine, but was rearrested charged with robbery. Christian, and la survived by three aons, W. H., J. C. and R. G. Plunkett, and one daughter. Miss Clara Plunkett, all liv ing In this city. She also leaves two brother*. J. W. Garwood, of Thomson, Oa. and Johnston Garwood, living In Atlanta, and one slater, Mrs. S. E. Polk, of Langxdale, Ala.
