THE LOST WINGS.
••Know you where It wu I lo»t my
wlngi?" ,
•‘Oh, poet, at the Mart of Sordid Things,
Where the merchants strive and bar.
ter all day long,
Where the clamor of the huckster
drowned your song—
Oh, poet, at the Mart of Sordid Things!
"Know you where It was I lost my
wtfigs?”
“Oh, poet, at the House of Pleasing
Things—
At the Place of noisy laughter, where
the mirth
Of wine and feasting dragged your
song to earth—
Oh, poet, at the House of Pleasing
Things!"
“Know you where It was I lost my
winks?”
“Oh, poet, at the Place of Trilling
Things;
The little scorn, the spite, the lesser
love—
These maimed your song and killed
the sweets thereof;
Oh, poet, at the Place of Trifling
Things!"
"Where, then, shall I And my wings
again?”
“Oh. poet. In the Prison House of Pain,
From the silence, from the anguish,
from the night,
Shalt the sudden song of singing
thrill to flight:

Elsewhere In this paper J. M. High
Co. announce through a page adver
tisement a great sale of Blankets, Bed
Linens, etc. Their August sale of
Blankets and Bed Linens Is awaited an
nually by Atlanta's thousands of eco
nomical housekeepers. This sale offers
a rare opportunity for the thrifty
housewife to lay In a supply of Blan
kets and Bed Linens at August sale
prices. This usual August announce,
ment will be hailed with delight by all
women within reach of this popular
store. A trip to the store revealed
Blankets plied everywhere. A great
display Is arranged In one of the big
Whitehall street windows.
A member of the Arm, when ap
proached regarding this event, said
that In all probability It would be the
most successful sale they had ever held
for the reason that the Blankets were
contracted for many months ago, when
prices were fully 20 to 25 per cent un
der present ruling prices. There has
been a tremendous advance in prices
of all articles of dry goods within the
last six months, nnd Blanket prices
have advanced with the rest. The J.
M. High Co, contracted for upwards of
1,000 pairs of Blankets from the mill
ntany months ago at the then prevail
ing prices.
A special feature connected with
this sale Is the popular easy payment
plan. Those who do not wish to take
the Blankets at this time, hut who de
sire to take advantage of this sale In
order to secure the Blankets at August
sale prices, which menus a big saving,
can select their Blankets, pay one-
fourth of the amount down, and the
Blankets will be stored free of charge
until they are needed. Hundreds of
Atlanta's wise buyers annually take
advantage of this proposition and se
lect their Blankets for future use. The
small payment of one-fourth down will
secure you the Blankets nt the special
sale prices. Then you can get them
later on In October or November, or
whenever they are needed.
No doubt many wise shoppers will
take advantage of this sale, commenc
ing at High'* today.
