Headed by Governor J. O. Davidson,
of Wisconsin, a large party of proral-
nent cltlsens of the Badger State will
pass through Atlanta Wednesday even
ing. October 16, on their way to An
dersonvllle, the famous ConfedeK’
prison, where they will unveil a rnonu,
ment to the Union soldiers who died
within Its walls.
The party, which will travel In a spe
cial train of Pullmans, will stop a short
while In Atlanta, and on their return
Friday will spend a day or more vis
iting the battlefields around the city.
Their Itinerary' Includes the scenes of
all the historic battles from Nashville,
through Chattanooga. Chtekamauga,
l.ookout Mountain, Dalton, Resaca and
Altoona Pass.
Governor Davidson will be accompa.
nled by his official staff and every local
organisation of the Grand Army of the
Republic in Wisconsin will be repre
rented. Then there will be members of
tlm legislature, veterans <.f the Span-
Mi-American war and others.
The monument which they come to
unveil has been In course of construc
tion for several months and Is one of
the handsomest of the number that
mark the location of the famous prison.
Will V. Zimmer, of the Kimball, has
received notice of the- coming of the
party from his partner, George I-ougee,
of Madison, WIs., and will make ar
rangements for their entertainment. It
Is considered probable that the Cham
ber of comemrce will appoint a com
mittee to look after their wants while
here.
