EXTEND FRANCHISE

The council committee on electric and
other railways met at 10 o'clock Wed
nesday morning and acted favorably
upon the petitions of the Carolina Con
struct Ion Company and of the Georgia
Securities Company for the extension of
time In which the former Is to begin
and to complete the actual construction
of tho Interurban railway from Conyers
to West Point, and the latter to begin
and complete the Atlanta. Griffin and
Macon Interurban.
The Carolina Construction Company,
according to the original franchise, was
to have begun actual work by October
18, but the committee recommended to
council that the time be extended to
March 1, 1008. The Georgia Securities
Company waa to have begun the actual
work of construction of the Atlanta,
Griffin and Macon by October 19, and
