STUBBLEFIELD. JACK80N.
Tho marriage of Mias Kitty Stubble-
Held and Harding A. Jackson on Wed
nesday evening In the First Presby
terian church will be one of the bril
liant bridal events of tho month. The
attendance at the church will probably
be very large. Tho reception at tho
residence la limited to the relatives and
members of the bridal party.
Socloty has been Interested particu
larly in one phase of the wedding, the
beauty of Its color plan. It Is seldom
that pink Is selected as the predomi
nating shade In wedding costumes and
the decorations, though the artistic
charm and the appropriateness of It as
forecast of a rosy future makes it
rather remarkable that It Is not mors
frequently chosen. The wedding gown
of Mrs. Sara Ward Conley (Miss Bara
Ward) Is recalled ns one of the most
effective nnd beautiful ever worn by a
Nashville bride. It was of pink en
tirely. even to the pink tulle veil.
In Miss Btubblcfleld'e wedding tho
gowns of the bridesmaid# will be pink,
pink, ribbons will be used to mark tho
reserved seats, pink chrysanthemums
will decorate the church altar, and pink
flowers will adorn the residence for the
reception. The bridal tabic In pink
promises to be exquisite as a color pic.
ture.
The bridesmaids’ gowns are made
alike, and by a model that Is charming.
They are of pink meteor satin, tho
skirts frilled with seven ruffles of
polnte de Alencon, and above that a
tunic overskirt of the satin. The waists
are elaborately trimmed and have All
katlo sleeves. The gown of the maid
of honor Is equally effective of green
meteor satin, trimmed with silver and
real lace.
The bride's toilet will be ideal for Its
charm and appropriateness. It is a
white satin princesse, with a court
train, and trlmmsd elaborately with
quantities of real polnte de Alencon,
which was a wedding gift from the
bride's mother's friend. Mrs. William
Booth, of San Francisco. The yoke,
■leaves and tunic overskirt are mode
entirely of the lace, with a small
V-shapetl piece of point lace Inserted
on the corsage that belonged to the
bride's great-grandmother, Mrs. Rob
ert H. McEwen, and was a part of her
wedding dreBS. The Mikado sleeves
are embroidered In love knots, and the
collar yoke Is of hand-work embroid
ered In need pearls.

MRS. CLEVELAND -
AT WASHINGTON.
Mra. Grover Cleveland woe In Wash
ington the other day, says Daisy Fltz-
hugh Ayres. She slipped In quietly and
unostentatiously, not like one revisit
ing the scenes of unparalleled early
triumphs. Kingdoms may rise and fall
and dynasties may perish, hut unchal
lenged goes the fame of Dolly Madison
and France* Folsom Cleveland oa
dames dominant In aoclal charm,
queen# regnant of the nation. Mra.
CleveiantTttime to the funeral of Hon.
Albert. A. Wilson and waa a guest at
the Wllaon'+eMffence. She waa seen in
public only* at the obsequies at St.
Patricks church; where her presence
attracted no attention. While the bloom
of her radiant brldehood has vanished
with the years, time has only deepened
the sweetness'nnd tender womanliness
of Frances Cleveland's face. Her grey
eye* beneath her dark,, accentuated
browa, gate Into yours clearly and a
little wistfully. She, too, has suffered.
The dusky hair tossed back carelessly
from her brow In a sort of unstudied
tailed pompadour, has glances of silver
hroiigh Its meshes. The double chin
bespeaks maturity. Mra. Cleveland's
flgure Is much fuller than during her
brilliant reign In Washington. She leans
decidedly to emponpolnt. She wore a
well built tailor suit of black broad
cloth, simple In design. Her black hat
was draped In a thin black veil that In
no wise concealed her feature#. In a
mellowed, ripened manner Mrs. Grover
Cleveland Is ns handsome ns she was
the day she become the wife of the
president of the United States.
