35,000 of naming the actual figures—that It

Liverpool was steady at the close, net 4%9
7 points lower, final figures being slightly
above the bottom.
New York opened unchanged to 4 points
lower, first price for December being 10.61,
hut Immediately started downward, selling
at 10.45 during the morning session.
January was unchanged at the fcpenimr
10.20, the highest of the morning.

and future delivery, hut on the regular
counts the amount of business secured roots
up only a small total. ,
Reports and rumors are current to the
effect that some of tho large weaving
plants will shortly be In the market for
supplies ns they have orders on their hooks
for the finished goods which will shortly
fall duo and hare practically used up their
supplies of yarns. On the other hand, cop-
tracts which dealers made with spinners at
higher prices are now falling due. and as
tho spinners are living up to their con
tracts the dealer Is compelled to accept
deliveries, while at the same time be is not
finding a market for these yarns as he ex
pected to, when the yarns were contracted

was centered over New York yesterday has
moved out to the northeast aud today Its
southern border Is moving off the coast of
Mntne. The southern area of high pressure
has moved east and Is now centered over
southern Georgia, while the northweatern
high area has Increased In energy and ex
tent. Today Its center is near Spokane.
Wash., with Its crest extending southeast
Into Kansas. Cloudiness cover* the Ohio
valley and the eastern lake region and the
rains of the last 24 hours have been confined
to those districts. Ixtwer temperatures are
reported In the middle northweat and on
the middle and north Atlantic coast; else
where higher temperatures prevail.

partment today announcM that the prelim
inary returns for the production of corn In
1807 Indicate a total yield of about 2.553,732,-
000 bushels, or an averago of 26 bushels per
e, as compared with an average yield of

1805, and a ten-year average of SS.4 bushels.
The general average as to quantity la 82.2
per rent, as oompareil with 88.9 last year,

It Is estimated that 130,890,000 bushels of
the corn crop of 1906 was still lu the
hands of farmers on November 1, aa com
pared with 4.4 on November 1. 1806. *
The preliminary estimate of the average
yield per*acre of tobacco la 868.3 pounds
per acre, aa compared with the final esti
mate of 877.2 pounds in 1906. The total pro
duction of 64o.213.000 pounds la thus Indi
cated, as compared with 652,429,000 pounds
finally estimated In 1906.
