Macon, Ga., Nov. 12.—Not In a long;
time has the voters In Macon been bo
worked up over any one thins as they
now are over the election being held to
day for mayor of the Central City. Both
Judge A. L. Miller and Hon. John T.
Moore, candidates for the office, have
had hundreds of supporters working for
them during the two months' campaign,
and both sides are in high hopes of
winning. . .
Last night Mr. Moore and several or
his supporters delivered speeches In
the city auditorium before an Immense
audience of both sides, about as many
Miller men being In attendance as there
were Moore supporters.
Judge Miller did not make any
speeches during his campaign, nor did
Mr. Moore, until Monday night, when
he took a parting shot at bln oppo-

ters coming from all over the state will
gather In Macon on Monday. November
23, for the first regular meeting of the
presidential postmasters of Georgia.

Postmaster Inspector Vickery and sev
eral other officials from Washington

Among the other men who will speak
are Senator O. A. Bacon. Congressman

The association consists of the first,
sscond and third-class postmasters of
the stale, about 160 In number.

press of the civil business In the supe
rior court that it will hardly be before
December that the criminal docket can
be taken up. This week's work In the
court will hardly be ns great as last
week’s on account of the election to
day.
On Friday next when tho bar asso
ciation meets again civil cases only
will be assigned for the following week.

HOUSTON MAN DIES

Macon, On,, Nov. 12.—Funeral serv
ices of James 8. Bryant, who died Sun
day evening, were held this morning
at the old honie, near Kathleen, Oa.
The Interment was made In the family
burying ground.
Mr. Bryant was one of the oldest and
most respected citizens of Houston
county and was visiting his slster-In
law, Mrs. J. 8. Solumcum, In Macon at
the time of his death. He Is survived
by his wife, three sons and two daugh
ters.

grund Jury meets again on Wednesday
morning next the Exchange Bank af
fairs are to come up. An investigation
of the bank uffairs is In line with the
harge given the grand Jury by Judge
Felton.
v Washington, Nov. 12.—Tennessee
will lead the van of the third terjn pro
cession and nominate'PresIdent Roose
velt for re-election. So declared Rep
resentative Hale today, after an Inter
view with the executive at the white
house. According to the program out
lined by Mr. Hale, Tennessee will be
the first state to choose delegates and
will name them probably In January or
early in February. The rest of the
states are then supposed to fall Into
line and make It unanimous.
