THE ATLANTA GEORGIAN AND NEWS. KATVTWAr, XOVBMBBR M, 190T. Gold, $1,000.00 Automobile, $2,000 Runabout, $650 10 Upright Pianos 1 Grand Piano 20 Trips to Cuba — 30 Scholarships 15 Diamonds 15 Gold Watches GIVEN TO SUBSCRIBERS BY THE GEORGIAN AND NEWS. . / WHY WE DO THIS ' V ■ Jjlgpli A newspaper with a subscription list the size of the Georgian spends a great deal of time and money each year collecting and renewing their subscription.. Experience has shown that the use of special prizes and the employment of experts to do this work is a wise investment from a busi ness standpoint. We simply contract with an expert who knows the management of these things as the engineer knows his engine. We have taken a special office in the Austell Building in which to conduct the work, and a large force of assistants will conduct the contest and personally visit almost every home in Georgia. The Georgian and News is mainly a Georgia paper—it goes some to other states but not nearly so much as other papers do. Wh do not try to get circulation much outside of Georgia. We are making it a home paper. This opportunity is superior to most similar ones given here before because the wealth of prizes which have seldom been equalled are to be divided to Atlanta and Georgia alone. As we have told our readers, the advertiser, who pays 3 times as much toward the expense of newspapers than the reader pays, needs large circu lations to bring him customers. So newspapers can afford to give these inducements from time to time for the benefits they bring their advertisers. The Georgian is going to 30,000 homes now, and we expect to add from five to ten thousand more before this contest ends in February. These so- called piizes aie genuine and will be exhibited in prominent places soon. The Georgian does not simply give them away-—for we get much in return —but the one who wins the prize need make no outlay but simply ask her friends to take the Georgian and use the votes this gives for her benefit THE PLAN IN BRIEF The winner, of these prizes will be decided by popular vote of Geprfflan and News readers and friends of contestants. Votes are secured oir all cash in advance subscriptions to The Georgian and News from one month up, and coupons may be clipped from each copy of the paper. One hundred votes are allowed on a new subscription for one month to The Georgian and News, and 2,400 votes for a new yearly subscription to The Georgian and News, Votes nre allowed on both old and new subscrlptlShs, but only half as many ballots are-Issued on old subscriptions as new ones. Old subscribers Include all whose names were on our books at the time the contest was announced. The coupons published dally In this paper will be good for live votes the first week, three votes the second week, and one vote the remaining seven weeks of the contest. Paid in ndanco subscriptions monthly or longer should be sent direct to the office of The Georgian and News, and upon receipt of remittance, bal lots n-lll be Issued. The paper will be delivered by carrier, mall or dealer at option of Georgian Co. Votes will not be Issued on receipts unless bal lots are asked for at the time payment Is made. Any one may vote In this contest who desires to do so, using for the purpose of voting the ballots secured on paid In advance subscriptions to The Georgian and News or the coupons clipped from the dally paper. The Georgian and News reserves the right to reject any nomination. The field of The Georgian and News will be divided Into >0 dls. trlcts. SUBSCRIP TIONS MAT BE SECURED ANTWHERE IN THE v UNITED STATES. AND VOTES WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE SAME PROPORTION A8 THOUGH THE ORDERS WERE SECURED WITHIN THE DISTRICT. IN WHICH THE CONTESTANT RESIDES. Votes will be allowed only on paid In advance subscription!, and a re quest for ^allots must be mode at the time the subscription Is paid. Each district In the entire contest Is separate and dletlnct from all others, and all any contestant has to do to win a first prise Is to secure the largest number of votes of all contestants In her OWN PARTICULAR district. The candidates securing the second highest number of votes In EAClt,of the 20 districts will receive a scholarship. The contest is open to all women (married or elngle) residing In the city of Atlanta or the state of Georgia. The field of Tjie Georgian and News has been divided Into 10 districts and each dlatrlct will be separate and dls- Hnct in Itself.
