Dec. 17.—'Tom Crump ton, who has just been released from Jail under a heavy bond; shot and prob ably fatally wounded the oldest son of C. V. Mahoney yesterday. It Is said that Crumpton was drinking. About two months ago. while acting aa police, he phot and killed Joe Morrison, a negro, and for this he was awaiting trial, and by the preslstent effort* of Mahoney he secured hi* release Friday. Washington. Dee, 17.—Commenting upon the announced Intention of Sen ator Mallory, of Florida, not to be a candidate for re-election, E. E.
