Macon, Go.. Dec.-11.—For the purpose
of hearing all reports that are now
ready In regard to the affairs of the
Exchange Bank, Judge U. V. Whipple,
of Cordele, will be in Macon on next
Monday. A dividend of SO per cent
has been paid to the deper.ltora since
Judge Whipple was last In the city, and
the rdcelvers have taken additional
steps to bring the bank affairs to a
close. Several Important matters will
come up for Investigation Monday,
among them being a petition of the
stockholders to the effect that a former
order be set aside and precedence given
to another and still older order.
MOUNTED POLICEMEN
PATROLING CITY SUBURBS.

Macon, Go., Dec. 11.—Macon's new
force of mounted police will begin pa
trolling the outlying portions of the
city today at noon. The squad will be
under' the aommftnd of former Police
lieutenant Charles W, Moaely. The
full number of the mounted force la
nine. Including Mr. Moiety. The move
ment was Inaugurated at the Instance
of E. J. Willingham, who Is well pleased
with the Idea of mounted police for the
suburbs of the city,

Macon, Go., Dec. 11.—The city court
of Macon and the superior court of
Bibb adjourned yesterday for the holi
day season. Many Interesting cases
have been settled and tbe court officials
will take a much needed reet from their
regular duties. The city court will
convent again on January 1, but the
Ulbb euperlor court will take only
abort recess until December 10.
On the charge of conduct unbecom
ing an officer. Bicycle Policeman O. O.
Adams was dismissed from the force at
the special meeting of the police com
mission Friday afternoon.

PLANTERS TO SELL

New Orleans, Dec. 21.—The move
ment of cotton plantere In Louisiana,
Mississippi and eastern Texss to sell
direct to European market# has caused
the organisation here of a co-operative
bureau for marketing their cotton. The
bureau was formed yesterday by the
executive committee of the Farmers’
Union. It Is planned to Incorporate
this bureau.

London, Dec. SI.—The Standard
prints conspicuously a statement that
Great Britain has decided to establish
a new navsl squadron In the Pacific.
The Standard says it will be composed
of the present fourth cruiser squadron
and six other county-class of cruisers.
These vessels are named after counties
of England. The squadron, which will
be called the Pacific and North Amer
ican squadron, will have Its base at
Esquimau. The scheme will become
effective In May, 1908. Title change
was Included In the admiralty budget
of 1907-08.
