UNCLE REMUS’S BEGINS NEW YEAR BRILLIANTLY CLASSIFIED ADS GOOD FOR EXTRA VOTES IN $15,000 CONTEST From one end of Georgia to the oth- be tnflueneed by rumors that such and tr Interest has become keyed to a high |4tch In The Georgian's great popular voting contest, and everywhere people me wondering who will be the success ful young ladles to carry off the hon ors and the prise that this contest af fords. The leadership In the various dis tricts Is constantly changing, and all or the contestants are doing their ut most to come out victors In the great race. Saturday Mrs. C. R. Cunningham, of District 14, had the honor cf having the highest number'of votes In the en tire contest thus far. but there are sev eral candidates who are not very far In the rear. Seme of the candidates could probably go to the lend, but for the fact that they arc holding back some of tho votes that they have secured on subscriptions, ns they want a reserve for the flni.l counting. Somo of those "ho are quietly reposing at the bottom of the list may be the very ones who ere holding bock the most votes, and. tin refers, even tho you are at the head »! the list In your district today, do not fur one moment think that you are sure to win. The loaders today do not heecaaarily represent the final victors, as there are fit> more weeks of the contest, and this Is the time In which the young ladles should do ihelr most »ork. , The seventh week of The Georgian's such candidates have many thousnnda of votes which can not ho overcome, for there It not one candidate who has enough votes to claim any of the prises yet. Reports nre often started thut certain candidates have an enormous number of vote* simply to scare the other candidates out, and these reports should not bo heeded at all. The next few weeks will be good ones to secure rotes, and the most should be mode of the time. Many outside people nre just now becoming Interest ed In the race and will be glad to help the young ladles out If they will ask. The voting Saturday was the heav iest that has been done since the con test started, and many of the candi dates received several thousand votes to udd to their reserve. While It Is a very good Idea to keep near the top. In order that your friends will tfee that you are well In the race, It Is a bad Idea to iwti all the reserve votes to accom plish this end. A large reserve should hr kept until the last. If candidates start to fighting for the first place now, it will make the number of votes that will win the capital prises much larger than It would be If the contest takes Its own course. This Is the commercial age and tho day of the specialist In all things, and those who would succeed In the field of business nnd office work must be thur- ughly trained In a modern, up-to-date commercial college. The history of tho graduates printed In the annual entu- legue of the Dixie business College gives evldcnco of the superiority of their Instruction. The success of Mios rr.nt contest has sterted In with a vim | who master a course this year will bo that promises to make It the equal of additional evidence of the superiority the third, and while tho number of of the Dixie Business College’s math votes on subscriptions is somewhat smaller, there la plenty of chance for those who are nt the bottom of the list l« get enough votes this week to win capital prlxe. A little determined iffort Is all that la needed to win nny of tho prixes, nnd the candidates who go ahead with the atm of wlnn' - *“ view will be the ones to succeed. ods of instruction nnd of Its facilities for placing worthy graduates In good positions.
