are permitted to cover with reasonable
losses. They have abandoned all hope

discovered perhaps a third 'of actual
stock was absorbed by Investors In
London during the recent decline. In
New York the opening was Irregular
without any Important changes. There
was no distinct trend, hut after ten
minutes of trading the market was
very strong.
The curb market was very Arm with
mining stocks the favorites. Oliver and
gold shares were the leaders.
More gold arrived from Europe, mak
ing actual receipts to date S9S.4ad.P97.
The best hanking Interests arp of His
opinion today that stocks should hs
pu-chased oil weak spots, but should
not lie followed on nn advance. They
look for a gradually Improving market
and one that will run counter to gen
eral business.
