LILLIAN RUSSELL 9 S SHOPPING
SHO WS HO WSHE WAS PLEASED
WITH A TLANTA’S BIG STORES
Lillian Russell, perhaps the best she bought liberally. There followed
dressed woman on the stage today,
shopped In Whltehall-et. Thursday aft-
ernoon, and that she found thing* to
her taste wa* shown by (he pile of
boxes and bundles sent down to her
private car, Iolanthe, late In the even
ing.
It was a busy day In the shopping
district and women were thinking more
of spring dresses and Easter hats than
of actrcsacs. But Lillian Russell would
make an Impression anywhere, and
when ehe entered one of the big stores
•he was recognised at once. The news
that the pretty wptnan In the natty
brown tailored suit was the famous
etage beauty soon spread from counter
to counter, and shopping was Inter
rupted while shoppers took advantage
of the opportunity to see her.
But Miss Russell waa not merely
"shopping." She was purchasing. Some
silk embroideries struck her fancy nnd
an inspection of some, of the little “AX'
Inga” that form such an Important part
of a woman's attire, end of which no
woman ever ha* enough. From store to
store Miss Russell flitted, leaving be
hind her coin of the realm and a new
subject for dlecusslon among sales
women and shoppers.
Perhaps It Is not every city which
would offer opportunity for shopping to
a.woman Just from Broadway, but Miss
Russell has visited Atlanta before end
evidently knows the treasures of Its bl«
stores. And If she had not, no women
with money In her puree, the call of
spring In her trains and the knowledge
that she needed “some little things nt
least" could have resisted the tempta
tions of Atlanta's show windows. Her
stroll down Whltehall-at. may have
begun as an outing, but It' ended In
shopping, as It does V h every woman
who ventures Into .the ..opplng streets

MAY CHASE RABBITS
AND YELL AS WELL
Under a decision rendered Frldjy
morning by Recorder Broyles. f U Is not
disorderly conduct for boys to chase a
rabbit and to yell and scream with the
natural excltemtnt of the chase.
The decision was gWcn In the case
of two boys, Roy Winter* and Carl
Mackey, who were arrested In' Wait
Flfth-at. The boys were accused of
■hooting pigeons, but they asserted
they had merely chased a,rabbit. It
wa* shown that th* boya caused con
slderable commotion In the chase, yell
ing and running the rabbit Into a bam.
"I will dismiss the cate," sold Judge
Broyles. "It hae not been proven that
the boys ehot pigeons and It la not dis
orderly conduct to chase a rabbit. That
Is tha right of every free-born Ameri
can, no matter where the rabbit may
be flushed."

One-third of this, or considerably less
