Seven Squads From Fifth to
Compete For
Prizes.
Seven squads, composed of picked
men from the various Atlanta compa
nies of the Fifth regiment, will partlcl-
pate In the prise drill which will be
held by the regiment In the skating rink
at Ponce DeLeon Thursday evening.
The men have been practicing for sev
eral weeks and havs attained a degree
of efficiency seldom euepossed by mem
bers of the Fifth.
Colonel J. Q. Nash, of the Georgia
Military Academy, and Lieutenants
Holliday and Dsntorth, of the Seven
teenth regiment, will act as judges. The
money raised by the drill will be used

rifle range, near Fort McPherson.

supreme court today handed down' n

J. Lee Barnes, proprietor of the Ara
gon Hotel, had a second attack of ap
pendicitis Wednesday night and was
sent to a private sanitarium, where he
underwent an operation, which was

and Dr. W. B. Emory. On Thursday
morning It was reported that he was
rallying from the effect of the opera
