GAINESVILLE, G(.. April 27.—The
University of Georgia Cadet* arrived In
Gainesville at 2 o'clock Saturday after-
noon from Athena, coming via the
Southern Railway. Lieutenant J. M.
Kimbrough vaa In command of the
boys, and the ramp at Chattahoochee
Park waa In readiness to receive them.
Gainesville waa decorated In red and
black In honor of the Cadet*.
A number of very pleaaant event*
are In atore for the Cadet* while they
are here. They will not break camp
, until Monday. May 4.

QUEER FREAKS OF TORNADO
SHOWN IN WIND’S WAKE
Tornndoca are freakish In th* meth
od of accomplishing destruction, and
the one that struck Atlanta Friday
night waa no exception to the rule.
It atppearad to have had a particular
fancy for the cast aide of Prospect

cottages on each aide. Thoae on the

while those on the eait aide were *e-
verely dealt with.

“BONY TANK” DEAD
AT KNUCKELSVILLE
GAINESVILLE, Ga., April 27.—New*
ha* been received In the city of the
death at Aurarla, Lumpkin eounty, of
Charles Bonapart* Tanker* ley. Mr.
Tankerety was known principally a*
“Bony Tank," a character of the moun
tain* of. northeast Oeorgta. He lived
the greater part of hi* time at Aurarla.
better known a* "Knuckelavllle," and
he *u the chief and leader of the old
crowd who frequented this part of
the mountain*. A* a fighter Bony Tank
wore the belt. He waa a giant physi
cally, and many a man ha* "bit th*
dust" from one of Bony'* sledge-ham
mer blow*. During the year* Immedi
ately following the clvtl war, Knuokels*
vllle was a famous fighting ground. It
I* said that no man ever passed that
Important mountain retreat that he
wa* not bantered for a fight.
Pistols and knives were not used In
the Knuckelavllle fights, only the bare
knuckles of the hand. Bony Tank was
about seventy-five years old.
