LE MANS, France, Sept. 15.—Altho
the weather ha* been favorable for
aeroplanlng. Wilbur Wright, the
American aviator, ha* not been able to,
repeit his experiment*. Hla motor is
proving obstinate and, after trying It
for a few minutes, there were signs of
trouble, and ft refused to work at all
after six minutes.
In fact, a new Wright myitery'haa
been created by this motor. A little
time ago It waa running marvelously
well. No one has touched It since. But
punctually It stops each time after
working six minute*. Wright took It to
pieces and put It together again. But
still It refuses to m-ork satisfactorily.
Mr. Boh! and a score of Intelligent
men worked over It In vain. The motor
defied them all.
Several well-known aeronauts visit
ed the camp today In spite of ".ha fact
that the military were firing, and
caused Mr. Wright to leave his shed.
Among them was Baron Kcononios, vice
president of the Aero Club of Austria.
Today Mr. Wright can not jmsslbly
go out before evening, even If his mo
tor is working well, mvlng to the firing
of the military.

at Fort Grant, the lonely post to which

NEW YORK, Sept. -16.—Baron Von
Arbeck, commander of tha Dutch cruis
er Gelderland, which visited this coun
try a year ago. and who for the paat
month has been Investigating condi
tion* existing in Venezuela concerning
the Dutch holdings In that country,
sailed today on the Rotterdam for Hol
land, where he will make his report to
the Dutch government.
While the baron would say nothing
regarding his visit 10 Venetusla, It la
generally understood that while there
he met President r’nstro and made re
peated attempts to collect the claims
Holland holds against the South Amer
ican republic. Whether ha waa sue-
essful or not In his mission, the baron
could not state.
