Hot Three-Cornered Fight
May Not Be Settled
Thursday.
They're coming strong—those candi
dates for mayor!
It's a great race between "Jim”
Woodward, "Joe" Hlrach, and "Tom”
Goodwin.
The primary will he pulled off Thurs
day. and yet to date there )>as been but
one speech made—that one by Colonel
Woodward a few days ago.
The speech drew out a couple of
cards, one from Mr. Hlrsch and the
other from Mr. Goodwin. This Is the
extent of the pyrotechnic* so far.
It Is a race between three hand
shakers—a hand-shaking .campaign.
There are no three better In the world.
Jim Woodward shakee the voter's hand
hard, Joe Hlrsch shakes the hand long,
and Tom Goodwin shakes the hand
often. Can you beat It? Which will
win? Hard, long, or often?
The Issues? There are several. Col
onel Woodward stands for a clean, hon
est, business administration. Mr. Hlrach
stands for an honest, clean, business
administration. Mr. Goodwin stands
for a business, clean, honest adminis
tration.
With these Issues, It Is no wonder
that the candidate* are a little aroused.
The people, tho, for the most part, are
taking things pretty easily. The people
are like all other klnde of fireworks—It
takes Are to get them biasing, and
there aeems to be a mutual understand
ing that matches and torches ara ta
booed at this political bonfire.
And then, you see, the primary on
Thursday will In alt probability not set
tle the mayoralty question. It It not
probnble that any candidate will re
ceive a majority of the total vote cast,
and this, under the new primary law,
will necessitate a second primary be
tween the two lending candidates.
Thlr second primary, by the way,
must be held not less than ten days
before, nor more than thirty day* aft
er. the first on* The city executive
committee Axes the date.
Next In Interest to the mayoralty
campaign Is the race for alderman of
the Second ward, with Councilman
Press Huddleston and Joseph Lntwu*
Aghtlng It out for the Job. Both are
hard at work and have been several
weeks, and charges, counter charges,
cards and counter cants ere Aylng thick
and fast.
The races are not without Interest.

Barbed Wire Antiseptic
A New Discovery.
The PARIS MEDICINE COMPANY, 2622-30 Pine St., St. Louis, Mo.
manufacturers of LAXATIVE BROMO QUININE and other standard prep
arations have a new discovery that far surpasses anything ever placed on tie
market for barbed wire cuts, burns and old sores.
When Marconi stated tliat lie could send messages across the ocean with
out a wire or cable, the world did not believe it; if we were to tell you that
Dr. Porter’s Antiseptic Healing Oil
will cure a barbed wire cut in one day, will absolutely relieve the pain of a
burn instantly and will cure old sores which other remedies have failed to
cure, you would not believe it; therefore we have instructed all Druggists to
refund the money to purchasers in every case where it fails to do all we claim
for it.
We Mean It
It is needed in every home. When any of the family are severely burn
ed or cut, or a horse is badly injured on the wire fence you haven’t time to
send to town for a remedy, but you need it at once; therefore do not delay to
purchase a 25c package under oar positive guarantee.
A Cut Never Matters, or Suppurates, after it is once applied.
It not only relieves the pain of a burn instantly, but will take out all in
flammation and soreness in one day.
It will*cure granulated eye-lids and old chronic sores, no matter of how
long standing. It is just as valuable for household use as it is for stock.
