opening of the Bibb county public
school, Wednesday, all of the schools
and colleges In the Central City are
now open and carrying on the regular
school work. Wesleyan and Mercer
opened last week; Mount DeSalee
Academy opened Tueeday. and the pub
lic schools on Wednesday.
The enrollment this year Is the larg
est the public schools have ever had.
and more than 7.000 boys and girls are
attending the various schools through
out the county.

MACON, Ga. Sept 23.—S. J. Jack-
son, alias Daniels, was arraigned Tues
day before Recorder Urquarhart on a
charge of disorderly conduct and fined
325 or fifty days on the city gang.
He, with fifty other men and .beys,
was mixed up In the riot Saturday
night In East Macon. Jackson mokes
the second man arrested and fined 325
and It Is expected that other arrests
will follow.

married Tuesday In the parlors ofSthe

The young couple have known each
other only a short time and their mar.

OF MRS. AULTMAN
MACON, Ga., Sept. 23.—Funeral
services of Mrs. Fannie Aultm&n, 85
years old, were held Tuesday after- ■
noon from Society Hill church, near
Byron, conducted by Rev. Dr. Dargan.
The Interment was made in the church
burying ground. Mrs. Aultman wan
the widow of the late Solomon Ault
man and Is survived by live sons, three
of whom are living in Macon.

Woodward, Harry .Stockdell, Dr. T. D. Longi-
no and Jno. B. Goodwin were running for
Mayor, on the. day of the election, when too late
for Mr. Goodwin to defend himself, banners
were placed on the street cars, announcing
“Jno. B. Goodwin out of the race in favor of
Jas. G. Woodward.” This was false, but serv
