tures exported from the United States
In the llscnl years-1908 aggregated thlr.
tern million dollars’ larger total than
any preceding year. Of this total one-
haif went to Europe, the share sent to
that part of the world being unusually
large, and the total value larger than
ever before.
The annual report of the chief of
bureau of statistics; department of com.

shows that the value of American man
ufactures exported to Europe In the
fiscal year 1908 was. In round terms,
*368,000,000, ngalnst *355.000,000 In 1907,
*318,000,000 In 1906. *283,000,000 In 1905,
*272,000,000 In 1900 and *111,000.000 In
1895. Rapid as Is the growth In exports
of manufactures, the share which Eu
rope takes thereof has been In recent
years apparently Increasing. Of the
manufactures exported from the United
States during the past four years 46.3
per cent went to Europe In 1905, 40.4
per cent In 1906, 47.9 per cent In 1907
and 49 per cent In 1908.

MACON, Ga„ Dee. 11.—The body of
Thomas Fulford, Jr„ who died Thurs
day at the Macon Hospital from a frac
tured skull and Internal Injuries, re
ceived in II fall from a second-story
window, were shipped to Amerlcus
where tho funeral services and Inter
ment will be held Friday afternoon.
Mr. Fulford was a fireman on the
southwestern division of the Central
rood and had come In off hi* run when
he was taken suddenly sick. He raised
a window at hi* room when he fainted
nnd fell to the ground below, a distance
of more than thirty feet.
HARGIS-COCKRELL
FEUD IS RENEWED
LEXINGTON, Ky„ Dec. 11.—The
ftargtn-Cockrell feud In Kentucky has
broken out anew. The home of Ed
Callahan, formerly lleutennnt for Judge
Hnrglfi, twenty miles from Jackson,
was besieged during Wednesday night
by a posse of ten or twelve men on
horseback and a fight followed. In
which Rand Sebastian whs killed and
two others wounded. Tho posse be
longed to the Smith. Deaton and Riley
families and their friends, all of whom
were ut one tlmo or another allied with
tho Hargis faction, but who turned
state's evidence after, the Marcum as
sassination. Since then they have been
allied with the anti-Hargis faction.
It Is now feared that the Smlth-Cal
lahan feud will be even more deadly
