RumorThat Mrs. Annls
Has Letter to That
Effect.
NEW YORK, Dec. 19.—Mr*. William
E. Annie will be called to the etand by
the prosecution In the trial of Thornton
Jenkins Halna when the trial Is re
sumed on Monday. Mrs, Annls has
now loomed up as the strongest wit
ness for the prosecution.
The testimony of several other wit
nesses for the state has been riddled by
John F.' McIntyre, chief counsel for
Hal ns. hut there is a siwj current to
day that Mrs. Annls heu. a letter win-
ten by T. Jenkins Halns to her hus
band, which was a warning. If not a
threat.
Justice Crane, up to this time, has
closely guarded every effort on the
part of counsel for the defense to get
on the records the stories of dissipa
tion and Intrigues at Fort Hamilton
which were followed by the killing of
Annls.
If Mrs. Annls has such a tetter from
Jenkins Haines, If she Is chm pel led to
go hack to the time Captain Halns llrst
decided to do harm to Annls, these
scandals will be brought to light. It
Is said that more than one man of high
standing In the army will be powder
burned should there be auch an ex
plosion. If Mrs. Annls has such a let
ter from T. Jenkins Halns. It may go
hard with Halns. but It will go pretty
hard also with certain men and women
who took part In affairs at the fort
during the absence of Captain Peter C.
llalns In the Philippines.
Up to this time the chief weapon of
the state Is the evidence that T. Jen
kins Halns leveled his revolver nt others
at the Bay Side Yacht Club while his
brother was pumping bullets Into the
body of Annls.

Any one can use a home. A home is the basis of citizenship in a republican form of government. And any* one in this contest can
look upon The Georgian’s Home with pride. It is a beautiful property, situated in West Atlanta Park, where the owners of this property
have spent a large fortune in improvement, where the owners have built a church, a school house, fine roads, beautiful parks, sidewalks—
virgin forest vines, lakes, springs, where nature in its original state has been preserved—wild flowers, forest birds—and just 20 minutes from
the center of Atlanta. The owner’s idea, as he expressed it, is to have a millionaire’s desires in a country home for the middle class peo
ple, and this plan is so successfully shown in West Atlanta Park that bankers, real estate promoters, merchants, and in fact every one
who has seen this "Georgian Home’’ wonders how The Georgian can do so much for just a $4.50 subscription. Think of how many peo
ple take a daily paper. Think how many would be glad to give you their money for one, two or three years if they knew you desired it in or
der for you to get a home. When you read this, take the suggestion home to yourself, send in your name, and come to see the Contest
Manager. He can help you organize a plan to get this home. A home, character and good health make a happy life.
Does this appeal to your ideas of life? ,
