Uncle Dudley:
I have some little chickens two weeka
old. They have been doing fine until
yesterday I found one dead. On ex
amining I found them covered with Ilea.
I gave them a good greasing today.
Pome more of them are having fits.
They have only been fed cracked rice,
pearled barley, wheat bran and cruahcd
coals taken from the stove and dried
beef scraps. I gave them a few drop*
of kerosene oil In their water yesterday.
Please tell me thru The Georgian the
trouble and remedy; also advise me if
biscuit crumbs are good for little chick
ens. Yours truly. A BEGINNER.
Llthonla. Ga.. May 17. 1810.
Answer.
Any good Insect powder will take the
lice off your chicken*. Whitewash
the nest where they sleep and the hen
house. Sprinkle lime on the floor of
the house. Feed on grain; soft food la
not good for them.
YOUR UNCLE DUDLEY.
Dear Uncle Dudley:
Please advise me thru The Georgian:
glsn:
1. The average laying Ufa of a Leg
horn hen?
2. Can hen and duck eggs be Incu
bated together successfully?
5. If ao, how?
I At what age do I. C. ducks be
gin laying?
Your articles In The Georgian are
highly appreciated and are making The
Georgian many new subscribers.
Very respectfully,

that after two year* a ban Is not profit

J. No. sir. I would not set them

1 They require different treatment
as to moisture, etc.
