In honor of her sister. Miss Ruby
Scruggs, whose marriage to Dr. Charles
Loftus Grant Anderson on July 7 will
be one of the beautiful weddings of the
season.

casion In pink rosea und a delicious
luncheon was served. Afterward the

pretty porch party on Friday afternoon
in honor of Mlsa Maybelle Anderson, a
bride-elect of next week. The tables
for the game were placed on the porch
and the decorations were most attract
ive In pink and while roses and cape-
jessamloes. The Ices were In pink and
white nnd the cakes were white and
pink, made heart shape and decorated
with the initials of the honor guest.
The punch bowl was presided over by
Misses Norma Rice, Anna Belle Ad
kins and May Blarkatone. a trio of
charming young women, gowned in
white lingerie. . .
The first prise, a cut glass bonbon
dish was won by Miss Norma Rice.
The consolation, a hand-painted bonbon
dish, went to Mist Edna Walrsven, and
for the guest of honor was a handsome
brass fernery.
Mrs. Holliday was gowned n white
lingerie for the afternoon. Miss Afn-
dorson wore a pink lingerie gown.

ington, Dr. C. E. Dowman officiating.
The church was handsomely decorat
ed In palms, ferns and white flowers,
nnd lighted taperi were placed about
the chancel.
A musical program was rendered by
Mrs. Robert R. Fowler.
The bride’s costume was of ehar-
tneuse satin, adorned with duchess lace.

A quiet wedding of Thursday after
noon was that of Miss Clare Keating
and Mr. Harvey Chafln. which took
place at the parsonage of the Church
of the Immaculate Conception at 4:10.
Miss Cecelia Keating, the bride's sla
ter, was brldemald, and Mr. Georgs
Flynt was best man.
Miss Keating wore an embroidered
lingerie gown, with a black hat, and
carried pink carnations, while the bride
wore a traveling suit of dark blue cloth
with hat to match. She carried bride
roses.
Mrs. Keating, the bride's mother,
wore black lace and a black hat trim

After the ceremony Mr. and Mrs.
Chafln left for Denver and Colorado
Springs, and on their return they will
go to housekeeping.
