among the medical fraternity of the
city by telling of excellent results ob
tained In a typhoid fever case thru a
now treatment. Serum waa Injected
after the fever had reached a very se
rious stage and It caused almost Im
mediate improvement
The serum treatment ha* been used
here tn cases of erysipelas and possi
bly one or two other diseaeee, but so
far as Is known has never been used In
a typhoid fever case In this city be
fore.
The patient was a boy of eighteen
years. On the third day of his Illness
300.000,000 dead typhoid germs were
Injected Into the system. At 10 o’clock
the next morning the temperature was
104 and by evening hod fallen to
101 1-1. Th* next morning th* tem

that tha canvassers selling mall boxes
to residents of Atlanta are meeting
with great success.
It Is the desire of the poetofllc* de
partraeqt to have a mall box at each
home In order that tn* deliveries of
mall may be facilitated, and In accord
ance with this Mr. McKee ho* sent a
circular letter to each householder of
tho city urging that they comply with
tho request.
The poatofllce department Is In no
manner Interested tn the sale of any
particular box. and It Is not compul
sory to purchase a box, but It Is greatly
desired that all will do so.
Trial of Jonas Poatponad.
Macon, Ga., Nov. 29.—The trial of
Johnny B. Jones In connection with
the murder of W. D. Bishop has been
postponed until the special January
term of the superior court on account
of the absence of Dr. F. M. Cunning
ham from tho city. The case was called
yesterday morning, but when Judge
Felton waa acquainted with the fact
that an Important wltnese was out of
the city he consented for tho trial to
go over.
