Liverpool was unchanged to 44d higher
against the upturn of Saturday hors.
Broom hall cabled that Liverpool was af
fected by the heavy world shipments,
good crop advices from India and Russia
and continued liberal nuasjan receipts
Favorable weather and fairly liberal re
ceipts caused a lower market In corn, but
there was fair support on the decllnq on
noting orders..
Oats wan a shade lower, with the trade
exceedingly emeu, there being no early
tnde In July.
Provisions wen firmer with the hlghei
hogs at the yards. Cudahy was a good
buyer of May lard. Commlialon houses
wen on both aides of the market.
The wheat market waa heavy all today
and there waa considerable selling by
longe hen, aa wall aa the putting out 01
short lines. The flnal prices showed net
looses of lOlHc. The cash markets wen
seme lower. There wen heavy losses at
Winnipeg, as well as elsewhere Buying
was scattered. Liverpool was unchanged
to *4d lower.
Corn waa 440 44c lower. The market
was.mom or leaa Influenced by the Im
proved weather for loading and shelling,
coupled with Increased receipts hen and
at Western markets. Hentlment was stlli
bearish aa the demand for cash waa alow
on export and domestic account.

the business.

New York, Jan. 30.—Under the leader
ship of the railroad stocks and Kteel com
mon tho stock market today, after devel
oping early Irregularity, became suddenly
strong toward tho end of the first hom
and prices moved up fractionally.
The Erie stocks were exceptionally
-.rang, the common moving up 1ft points
to 29. Wabash preferred and nock Island
also exhibited strength nnd a higher
range In prices. The Hill shares ruled
strong and active. St. Paul moving up
ft to 129. Union Pacific declined ft In the
brut hnlf hour. Imt later recovered part
of this loss. Rending. Norfolk and West
ern and Canadian Pacific were quoting
substantial fractional galna.
The curb waa moderately active with a
few of the standard stocks moving up
fractionally.
Quiet prevailed In tho American stockf
In London, several of the railroad stocks
moving up slightly. The copper stocks
developed heaviness, and as a result were
quoting fractionally under their closing o!
