Chicago, Juno 15.—Bartlett, Frasier A
Oo.: The weather map shows cloudy con
ditions with fair rains in the northwest.
There has been undoubtedly considerable
short wheat covered during the past few
days, which has given us a fair rally from
the low point of Monday. This strength
Is apt to continue possibly a little longer
as hedging sales have not yet become
pronounced, and short sellers must furnish
tho pressure.
A better tone to the cash market, proa
pectlve falling off In movement and con
tinned lack of rains over the corrFbelt are
apt 7 to give us a firm market, and we are
inclined to fuvor the long sld% on weak
spot*.
The general undertone to tho oata mar
ket remains steady. The market rallies
easily on any volume of new buying, and
conditions surrounding the crop show no
betterment.
. Chicago Inter-Ocean: There la a good
foundation for a drouth scare In part of
the spring wheat sections of the north
west. The report for Minnesota said rain
fall was generally deficient. For South
Dakota rain greatly needed In the western
portion and taking the state over was
much below the normal for the past week.
In North Dakota precipitation was above
normal, except In northwestern section,
where It was /leflrlent and some damage
to the crop resulted from wind on June 9.
Close observers said they expected a
nervous wheat market for tho next few
weeks until something Is known as To
what disposition will bo made of the cash
Wheat by the bull leaders.
Mixed sentiment exists in com. A num
ber of locnl longs wont out of their hold
ings yesterday, their selling being In
duced by predictions of shower weather.
