A number of'Tech tnen and Atlanta

was lighted until the last number was
finished those who were present did not
have a dull moment. The Tech enthu

to let everybody know they were there.

A Theatrical Fable in Slang
(The dialogue In the greit comedy
of New York life. "The Country Boy,”
reveals the author, Edgar Helwyn, as a
master of pungent and humorous slang.
Mr. Selwyn has written a synopsis of
the plot In the style of the speedy Jar

A certain young man who has suc

up-state town site where the turtles
are the betting favorites at the race
track sailed up the bay and dropped
anchor in a boarding house Just off the
big lane. He bad a few choice theories
about the figure he could cut In the
metropolis, and he had decided that he
could occupy a large area Inqlde the
city limits. He was sure that Manhat

the Dutch bought It for 824 and a few
quarts of firewater from, .the dufley
Redskins. Well. In this boarding house
or theatrical rancho he met with

and being an amiable chap with a floe
head and heart he got a corking hand
of friends on the first draw. Under
their tuition he might have eafely nav
igated the rapids and learned that the
yellow lights along Broadway mean the
same us red lights on the steep railroad
grade. That goes—unless you happen
to be cutting your own coupons for o
living. I Jut too soon, alas, l.efore they
could hand him a few heart-to-hearts,
he fell In with one of those fleecy flos
sies and mistook Her for the unadulter,
ated article. He designed halos for
her, attired her In his best dreams,
surrounded her with faith, hope and
love—In fact, put everything he had on
her. He was a problem of new stuff
for her, and she liked him for a few
weeks. Then she got a better engage
ment on Central Park West or some
other Sybaritic locality, and passed him
a large crate of citrons. His friends
had put torpedoes on the rails for him
and done all In their power except send
him to a sanitarium. In the meantime,
the "Little Girl" at home came to town
with her dad, the leading cltlsen and
