Hill now a candidate for the office of Gover nor in this State. YVe had heard f.om rumor for sereral weeks back that this individual had accused tha conductors of this Road of the heinous corruption of passing Democratic favorites ever the lino -if they had “a mus mark upon their halt. 1 ' But Itis party friends having dented that such a charge was ever made, we were content to leave the matter where it was. But since that time—tho evidence that such a charge has boeumnde by B. H. Hill-has daily increased. The following card published in the Constitu tionalist confirms it: •‘The Crus* on Their Hull.” YVe have seen il referred to in papers of the Slate, that the Hon. 11. II. Hill, in tome of his public speeches, had stated that all persons wlm expressed a willing ness re vote for the Democratic were permitted free of charge; and that all who had cross mark on their hat, " were recogniacd as good Democrats, and were passed free of charge over the whole length, or a 1 y portion of the State Road.
