Instances of like sagacity in tho horse are not Dccommoo. While there he escaped from the stable, leaped the fence and disappeared. It was supposed he had returned to Jacksonville, where be bad been stabled and used for three years. On inquiry, no trace of him ares found io that direction. A rumor was brought by a traveller who koew the home, that he bad been seen making his way to ward the southern part of the State; he sometimes kept the public road leading to ward Yandalu, and sometime* took to the trackless prairie, but alwaye bent south ward. At oce place he was headed off in a lane a mile long, between two farms. WOOD’S RESTORATIVE.—Of ill tha re-, torativss for tbe hair that hare bean invented, iWood’e pre-eminently claims the first place. It will certainly restore the natural color cf the hair f the directions sro followed for s sufficient length of time. It lies also produced astonishing effects in bringing oat e growth of heir, where the heed had been previously held. Wood docs not p re tend that it will do this in ell cesos; end we think his candor is s good recommendation of the vir tues which his restorative retlly possesses. If the roots of tho hair ere destroyed, no human power can make them grow again; but where there ta any vitality loft in the root, the restora tive will soon renew the hair in all its pristine vigor. It has done this repeatedly when ail other remedies had failed. It is therefore worth while in all cases to make the experiment. For clear ing the head of duudruff, and thickening end strengthening tho hair it has no rival—^Western Patriot.
