Grerel, Gout, end Rboumetisu. in Obstruc
tions of the Bladder and Kidneys, and in Gener
al debility, its jeffects are prompt, decided and
inrariably reliable. And it is not only a remedy
for these maladies, but, in all cases in which they
are prodaoed^by drinking bed water, which is al
most unisonally tho cause of them, it operates as
a sore preventive.
The distressing effect upon the stomach, bowels
and bladder,*of travelers or new residents, and
all persons unaccustomed to them, produced by
th« waters of nearly all cur great intaxxl Hrert.
ike the Ohio, Mississippi and Alabama, from the
large quantity of decayed vegetable matter con*
tained in them, in a state of solution, is well
known, as also that of the waters of limestone re
gions, in produoing Gravel, Calculi, and stone la
the bladder. The Aromatic Schiedam Schnapps
is an absolute corrective of these injurious pro
perties ofbad water, and consequently prevents
the diseases which they occasion. It is also
found to be a cure and preventive of Fever and
Ague, a complaint caused by the conjoint effect
of vegetable malaria in the atmostphere, and
vegetable prutesences in the waters of those dii-
m sain which it principally prevails. The Ar
ia otic Schiedam Schnapps are consequently
great demand by persons travelling or about to
settle in these parts uf the country, especially,
well as by many in every community where it bu
become known, on account of its various other
Remedial properties.
In all eases of a dropsical tendency it is gen
erally the only remedy required, when it has
been adopted in tbo early stages of the disiase.
In dyspepsia maladies, when taken in proper
quantities, as a diet drink, and especially ntdin
ner, it is found, by uniform experience, to bo em
inently efficacious in tho most obstinate cases,
when even the best of the usual remedies have
failed to afford moro than temporary relief. In
cases of Flatulency, it is an immediate and inva
riable specific, and it may be administered in di
luted and proportionate quantities, even toyuung
infants, in all of those paryoxisms of griping pain
in the stomach and bowels to which they aro es
pecially subject, as well as in tho cholio of grown
persons.
Alts judicious adoption in connection with the
principal meals, or when a senso of exhaustion
dictates its use, nevor lullo to relieve the debility
attendant on protracted ^ohronic maladies,^low
temperament, and exhausted vital energy, by
whatever cause inducod. These arc facts
which many of the roost cmincut medical men
both in Kurojrt and the United States have borne
testimony, and which.; aro corroborated by their
highest written authorities.
