Special Notice.—It the Milledgeville news papers are inclined to deal fairly,they wili.publish the reply of this journal to the brief article which recently appeared in the Savannah Re publican. Both these papers, published in the former capital, must have seen that reply ere they made so much capital out of our Savannah cotetnporary’s article. Fair play is a jewel, gen tlemen. Lectures.—It is gratifying to know that there is on loot a project for a series of lectures this winter under the auspices of the Young Men’s Library Association. We learn, with pleasure, that Rev. W. T. Brantly, D. D., has consented to be one of the lecturers. The learned doctor ia a polished and graceful speaker, and we anti cipate a rare intellectual treat on whatever sub ject be may select. Hurry up, young men, and announce the time and place. Fertilizers.—This is the Beason when plant ers and farmers are, or should be, turning their attention to the selection of fertilizers. It will be seen that Messrs. Adair <% Bro. are advertis ing the Soluble Pacific Guano, and that they have also appended a number of testimonials from well known citisuns of this county as to its merits. These certificates will be read by ail who purpose cultivating the soil tbe ensuing year. Mr. Mark W. Grn. “Thomas” Thumb —The celebrated General Tom Thumb, with his equally distin guished little wile, accompanied by Commodore Nutt and Miss Warren, both of whom, though exceedingly small, are not too little to be well known, will visit us soon. Tuey have recently visited quite a number ol our Northern cities, and have given much pleasure to all who have seen them. We clip the following notice of one of their entertainments from an exchange : ''General Tom Thumb and Commodore Nutt.— These celebrated gentlemen, accompanied by the amiable little wife of the former, and her sister, Miss Minnie Warren, made their first ap pearance in the Music Hall yesterday afternoon, aud were received in the most enthusiastic man ner by a very large audience. To form a proper idea ot these little people they must be visited, for they certainly are a world’s wonder - Com modore Nutt being a host in himself. The ex hibition was very amusing and successful.
