Tub following resolution win adopted l>jr flic Democralic Convention, field lu AUauta on t te 17thof August, 1870, to-wit Itoolced, That tho President ot the Conven tion be instructed to appoint an Kxin-utive Com miltcc, composed ot two from each Congres sional District, who shall choose a chairman from outside their own number wiih power on their part to call a future Convention ot the Democratic party, and with such other ;>owcr» as have usually exercised by Democratic Eccu- tive Committees; their appointment to last uu til the assemblage ol the next Democratic Cen Fentlon. In pursuance ot this resolution, the Com mitteo was appointed lor the purpose* named in the resolution only, but with no powr t.> chsDge the plstlorm in any panicnlar. IXmocr/ry. The National Democratic l’arty, in conven tion assembled, In New York, July, 1808, made the following charg< against the Radical parly In Congress, to-wit: Under its repeated assanlls, the pillars ol the Government ate rocking on their banc, and, ahould it aucceed In November next, and inau gurate its President, we will meet a* a subject and conquered people, amid the ruins of lilierty and the scattered fragments ol the Constitution ; and wo do declare and resolve, that, eve; since the people ol the United States threw off all sub lection to the British Crown, the privilege o trust and sulirago have belonged to the sever,» ■ States, and have been granted, regulated, and controlled exclusively by the political power ol each Htate, and any attempt by Congress, on any pretext whatever, to deprive any Htate of this right, or interfere with its exercise, is a flagraut usurpation ol power which ran find no warrant in the Constitution, and, it sanctioned by the people, will subvert ourtormolirovcrmnent, and can only end in a single, centralized, cuntolida- ted government, In which the Bcpcrute existence of the States will be entirely absorbed and an unqualified despotism be established in place ol a Federal Union of equal Slates. That we regard the reconstruction acta nl Coupes*, so-called, as usurpations, unconstitu tional, revolutionary and void. In the foregoing are live issues-yes, living issues—between the Radical snd Democratic parties, which will survive generation alter generation in this country, and yet we are told that all are dead and that there is no difference between the two great national parties, but lbal of finances and the management of money. From such ignorance and stupidity may the good Lord save us and our country. In support of the declaration of principles made by the National Democracy, we call special attention to the following resolution adopted by the Democratic Convention held in Atlanta on the 17th of August 1870: Ruotted, That the Democratic party ol the Htate of Georgia stands upon the principles ot the Democratic party of the Union bringing in to special prominence, as applicable to the pres ent extraordinary condition ot the country, the unchangeable doctrine that this is a Union ol of Stales; and the indestructibility of the States, and of their rights, and of their equality with osch other, is an luUispenatble part ol our pollt- ical system. Is this enough. Can any one longer doubt ? Will they deny tho truth T Abandon these principles, and the party will soon go to pieces, but stand by and flru.iy advocate them upon every hill and valley belore the people, and ail will come right some time. Agricultural Economy. The year 1870 is now near it* end, leaving with the industrious and economical bounteous crops, but bad markets lor the principal pro duct. Farmers throughout the land h»va reaped planteoualy ol earth's productions, whaievcr they planted being brought forth msmfoid and bonutifully. Thejpresent year ia crowded with big events, and everjr farmer, with grateful heart, acknowledge* its benefits. The season Lu proven *1 beneficial ns could ba, but the people, by'lheir natural Inborn ava rice, bavo overlooked their true interests in try ing to make too much. Large crops of cotton have been made, at an expense that would have auited a larger price on the product, but as it is the cotton raisers will reap very small rewards. Let us lint raise corn and oilier grain ; raise and fatten our own meat; then wu can atiord to plant cotton for the market. A* we do, what little money we get for our cotton we have to expend lor provisions, and have an insufficiency to cflect material im provements on our farms. It is a policy that will prove injurious—already has done so, in fact—and should be abandoned; and there is no hope of its being so until the people sec the importance of raising their own provisions first, Democrat! i Above all, don't yield nor surrender your principles. The negroes are entitled, It Is true, to vote end to hold office under the reconstruction laws and tho amended constitution, as they arc, and we will ,not molest them in the enjoyment of these privileges so long as this right exists, but matter* can lie changed in a quiet and legal way, through the ballot box and the regular constitutional way, and it ought to be dene, and wu hello to It will he In tbs course of time. The right ol the States to control the question of etiflrage ran lie changed and given hack to the States where it lias always existed uniil the adoption of the 15th Amendment, and that, too, will be accomplished, it the Democrats will but adhere to their principles. We have never asked a negro to vote, and wc don't expect to do to. It was wrong to give or confer up< u them political rights and wu cannot, in good con science, invite them to vote lor Democrat*. Wc are well disposed to the negroes, and will do nothing tore exslavethem Willing to givefull and ample protection to their person and prop erty, treat them kindly and advise them to make property and to educate their children, but will never consent not to withdraw the political lights, if it should ever lie in our power to do it. This is plain talk, but we feel It to he right, and wo will not deceive the white* and negroes upon this subject. We believe honestly that it IS .best, lor both races, that tho white people rule and govern this country. ,T. L. Dunnino,—Tim political angling of this scalawag on the prolongation question, dur irg the recent session of the General Asstmbly, w a* such as to call forth an endorsement liy several of our Democratic cotemporariee, of his honesty ol purpose in all polltieal matter*. It Is true tin t lie dresses well, assumes the air ol a gentleman, aud c'aiuis that Atlanta hat been bis liouie for twenty-five years, but then his appeals to the negroes on Saturday sle w conclusively that he Is an unprincipled political demagogue lie has yet to learn that the white people of this Commonwealth hare too much fureeight to confound the hissing ol a snake with the voice ol kindness. It commits the couutry to a good colonial system, which will ultimately embrace all the Western Indies, and in Its inev liable consequences, still more vastly modify the character ot the Government—increase its expenses—augment lu dangers and swell the volume of patronage and corruption.
