Hon. William J. Bryan, Dem
ocratic nominee for the pres
idency, has made an appeal
to the Democrats of the cou
ntry for contributions to t the
Democratic campaign fund,
suggesting that Democratic
newspapers act as solicitors
and forwarding agents in
their localities. THE TIMES
will recieve all contributions
and promptly forward them
to the treasurer of the Nat
ional Democratic Campaigm
Committee.
All aboard for the Gulf.
The all absorbing election is
now over. Let us get busy along
±Jke line of public improvement and
r.ake good roads. The paramount
fmftect and prosecute it to a suc
%fesful execution.
It appears ou the election re
turns that W. G. Morrison, our
present county surveyor, received
only one vote. He was not a can
didate for re-election.
t ________
Submit to the will of the people
by burying all animosities that
might exist as a result of the elec
tion and give each officer elected
youa hearty support toward the
upbuilding of your country.
That election ticket trick some
one played at Rising Fawn and at
this place Wednesday was the dir
tiest, meanest, smallest and most
contemptible electioneering scheme
ever before perpetrated on the
people of this county.
Every taxpayer that is a pro
gressive public spirited citizen is
in favor of'building a good public
road through the county. This
fact is .uncontroverted. Yow let
#ome one come forward with the
best plan and get busy.

GRAND JURY
PRESENTMENT
(Continued.)
Georgia, Dade County:
We, the committee appointed by
the grand jury of the Septembm
term 1908 to examine county re
cords and report to the pre.-en'
grand jury beg leave to iepor :
YVe have endeavored to examine
the books of the different officers
in the short time allotted u< an
find them neatly and w*il kept.
'The officers have shown us ev
ery courtesy possible.
lY 7 e have taken up the books
only since she report of last grand
jury except in one instance as in
structed and reported hereafter.
The records and inimites of the
clerk’s office are neatly and so far
as we can see correctly kept.
We are gratified to see that there
has been furnished the Ordinary’s
office certain books of record that
heretofore have not been kept at
all or in an unsatisfactory way at
hest,suchas marriages, etc. Ilis
books as a whole are well and
neatly kept.
The sheriff’s books as furnished
him appear well and correctly kept
but in our opinion those furnished
are incomplete for perfect record
but we recommend that all dates
be more particularly kept in the
jail register.
The hooks of the Treasurer are
in good shape showing a cullectn u

covering the expenditures accom
panied his hooks.
The Ordinary has furnished us
with the records pertaining to his
office, and so far as we were aide t>*

Sutton was just verging upon
manhood and was a bright, prom

full of promise to him for he was
of bright active mind and ol'studi
ous habits, a sunny temperament
and ol iigiivg disposition made him
friends and a firmness of character
held them.
During the summer while sick
ness held the family constantly at
tentive to suileiVrs, he did liis
share ol nursing until disease fas
tened upon him. In his ministra
tions to others he was gentle as a
woman and vigilant in his atten
tions and the tender care of rela
tives and friends*spoke of the high
esteem they had tor him.
The watchful care and solicitude
for his mother Wii> touching and at
no time however fatigued, his care
for her tested by acts of

Ihe yo 1 mger**Ysgf ren he was

To the surviving family: to look
upward and beyond the. limits of
time to that God who does all
things for the best, is the consola

The boundless love of a merciful
