The Bloody Seventh
With war to the hilt between
\
jive to ten candidates for congress
in 1910, the district will again bo
entitled to its old name of the
“Bloody Seventh” —Messenger.
Who are they?-Cartersville News.
It the News just must know, at
the notification held at Chickamau
ga, rumor coupled the names of the
following gentlemen as aspirants
for the seat in congress to be vac it
ed by Gordon Lee two years hence:
Hon. VV. 0. Buun, of Polk, Hon.
A. L. Bartlett, of Polk, Hon. A.
W. Fite, of Bartow, Hon. S. P.
Matrox, of Whitfield, Hon. Wesley
Shropshire, of Chattooga, Hon.
Moses Wright, of Floyd, Lion.
Frank Copeland, of Floyd, Hon.
Wm. Bradford, of Polk, Hon. G. R
Hutchins, of Polk, Hon. G. W. M.
Tatum, of Hide.
The Messenger dislikes to stilt
anything in a political way, when
the battle is so far removed, for as
the Marietta Journal remarks,
: “sufficient unto the day is the evil
thereof,” but the News calls our
hand, so we proceed to lay down a
full house, togafcher with the four
aces and the joker we had up our
sleeve.—Messenger.
If it is a game bi cards the Mes
senger Teiers .to, it has rud down
two full hands which goes to show
it had packed the deck, biifc made
a mis deal when it failed to pro
duce the name of lion. Paul Tram,
rinel, of Whitfield. Xb doubt he
was lost in thesuffie, for his friends
had him etnnected with the game
on said occasion. ‘

A CARD
On our return from annual con
ference we were greeted by the
good people of Trenton in a very
impressive way, not only by a
hearty hand shake and words of
congratulations, but on the I.4th
about 7 p m. alter the darkness of
night had drtwn hea mantle around
us our neighbors began to gather
at the parsonage, each bringing an
offering for the preacher’s table.
By 7. MO we had a nice congregation
and for a time we ingaged in a
prayer service, we had several
prayers and good talks which did
us good and we shall never *forget.
From the pounding given our
kitchen was made to resemble a
grocery store. Many thanks kind
friends, I feel nearer to you than
ever before. I have been sent to
you to be your preacher for another
year. My heart is with you, my
aim is to do you good. May God
bless you all and give us a happy
and prosperous year.
11. K. Allison.
A CARD Ob 1 THANKS
We wish to extend our heart
felt thanks to our friends and
neighbors for their kind and pat
ent care for us and our loved ones
that have passed from this life, al
so for the kind and sympathetic
letters recieved from friends who
did not get to visit us in our sad
bereavement. We also thank our
doctors for their kind and careful
attention. Map tlie Lord bless us
all in this life and may we live a
life that when time is no more on
earth He will say unto us “come
ye blessed of my father, inherit
Lie kingdom prepared for you from
the foundation of the world,” for
we have here no Continuing ( by
but we seek one to come. May
the'Lord bless and. save us all.
