G. W. M. Tatum IN MEMORIUM. As j walked through the silent city of the long forgotten dead, the stars had ceased to shine, the moon had refused his light to give, all was cold and still, not a leaf would rustle, no Bird sent forth her mel odious strains of midnight s >ng, no happy and ca n of a land of Mow ers could ent.r my brain, no gnve opened her bosom or Sent fourth a spirit from the load of slumber to bid me welcome, nor to cease m y sad intrusion, and as 1 walked in the darkness’of the night 116 angels sang, and no graves murm ired in defense of their dead, Then I said, ‘uf a man die, shall he live agaiUP’ And then I looked at the trees both small and great, and saw, that behold as they they,, lie, and crumble into dust. Then I said is man like a log? And then I looked and saw Adam a lifeless form, and I said sure man is not more than a log. But I looked once again, and I saw the Almigh ty, The Great 1 Am, the giver of all that is good; and as He .stooped Ir an the starry ski is of ilxive i, and bent low over the work of a[.*> hands, I saw Him with the breath of His mouth, breathe into man’s nostrils the breath of life. Thnii I s .w man rise and stretch forth his arm and put forward his foot and walk through the paradise of God, and in the midst of His glory. And then I said: “If a man die he shall live again?” And thus our beloved Brother Thornton Price, sleeps with Ad am’s f dlen race, awaiting the judgment call, when he shall rise in the Savior’s grace and in the power of His might. Bro. P.ice was 23 years old On the 24, day of September, 1908, the curtain closed and Bro. Price passed lroni the stage of action, into the land of tlie great beyond. He took the admonition of Sol omon and thus early in life learned to love and obey the Lord. He was one of the few who had friends but not enemier. He leaves a faithful ad loving wife and two sweet children and a host ol relati\ es -and friends to mourn their loss. But true our loss is his gain. And if we will but prepare as did he, we too shall one day. live and reign, in the land of love, 111 God s presence, in that Home abo\ e R. A.
