Towns, like ballons, cannot make much upward progress if over¬
loaded with deadweight. Either must discard excess ballast if it ex¬
pects to get anywhere. citizens,
Freighted with an indifferent attitule on the part of its
unfair criticism or sentiment injurious to local business, a municipality,
is unable to overcome stagnation and will sink to earth with its burden.
Though our County is not lacking in hotne-town pride, there
may be bits of ballast here and there which coil'd well be eliminated
in order to lighten the load which all of us must carry Toss apathy,
out-of-town buying and lack of co-operation overboard and the couuty
will have smooth sailing on its journey to success.

Two Cars Turn
Over on Pike
Two cars are reported to have
turned over on the pike road
which is undergoing repair# at
the presant timer
One a car from Alabama up¬
set near Rising Fawn at Curt-
tons mill and rolled over six
times with no injury to the
occupants. We think that is
going some. The other was a
F ord roaster and was driven by
Mr. Osborn of Chickamauga
and turned over near Wild¬
wood pinning him under the
car and he was nearly suflica-
ted when rescued-
Careful driving on the pike
until the road is finished should
be practised to avoid further
accident.
