p Jer » that the money will lnr-e
t0 be diverted to some other coun-
ty as the t . S. bureau ol roads
will make an other allotmert then.
We don’t know if this is true, but
if it is, it locks like we hane anolh
-eh political road built through
Dade County. The s^ate Road
Department has been slow about
this. Our forces in the county
have been doing a!) they could do
lo get it through and on contract.
If we lose this $100,000. of this
allotment we have lost never t o
gain it back as the new allotment
j would of give us more to extend
ed the road on through the county
As it now stands we have only a
f w days to get it advertised so
that it will be lei before Sept. 1st.
With that road being built
through the county (this countv)
this winter the good people of th<
co ntv would not have to depend
on our nau'oi a government for
to work out out. a living i his win¬
ter. They could work enough each
week to fee l their families and
the money would be well spent as
the road is badly needed. Without
it this winfer will probably be a
repetion of last and while we
Jdjfce vJly it no critisi. done m last to make winter, of the
was we
believe that 75 per cent of Ihe
people of the county would rather
see the work and money put on a
permanent road that scattered
over the county as it was and in
some cases did little good other
than to feed the hungry children.
We believe that the hungry [
should be fed and thank God for
a president that will feed them.
I Bui if they can be fed by putting
| the money to a good use and give
,the bread winner a job instead of
a dole the deed is much better
bone and the morale of the people
is kept at a higher standard.
It will soon uq time for our
Young Americans to shoulder
arms again and march against
Gen. Fricks’ army. The General

when the child gets that spirit too
it is a hard job for the teacher no
matter bow efficient the teacher
may be. ft would be a help this
year to have a Parent Teachers
Association in ihe county and
with the other help that they
could call on they could see that
every child in the county had
books and was in school. Our
Churches and Schools are the only
agencies (other t han our homes)
we have to build t,be characters
of the ones that we will have t o
turn this country over to when
we pass on and it is up to us o
see that they are fitted to lake
the reins and go on with this
wonderful country. While Dade
