Simmer gently for fifteen

chicken bouillon cube, the liquor
from a No. 1 can asparagus tips
and the tips cut in pieces. Heat
to boiling and serve. Serves eight.

Cook one medium head cauli¬
flower until tender, and then press
through a sieve. Press the con¬
tents of a No. 2 can of tomatoes
through a sieve also, slid add
with the contents of one can con¬
somme and one cup water to the
cauliflower, and bring to boiling.
Saute one tablespoon minced
onion in two tablespoons fat for
a few minutes, add three table¬
spoons flour, stir smooth, thin
with a little of the hot soup, and
then add to the soup, and cook
until creamy. Season to taste with
salt and pepper. Serves six.*
