In Memory
The death angel came into
the Smith family and took a-
Way the most loving and kind-
hearted brother we had. Be¬
ing dedicated most all his life
and we were all more attached
to him, and there was one
thing he always did was to
consider the welfare of moth¬
er. Even up until he died he
inquired if any were helping
her feed the stock and do the
work. Though it was hard for
us to say, Thywill be done’ we
are glad to say he didn’t suffer
but little over a week. In which
time he was like the “Prodigal
Son” realized he had wandered
away, made up his mind to re¬
turn to his Father, and he
told us and his many friends
that prayed and talked with
him that “all was well” he
fell that he was in the arms
of Jesus. As soon as the call
came for him, he was ready
to go. That was the most
comfort our broken hearts got
and we can say: “The Lord
giveth and the Lord taketh a-
way, blessed he the name of
the Lord.”
“My brother has gone from
earth to Heaven,
Left this world at early break
of day.
He has gone to live with Jesus
To our home bey ond to stay.
T’is sad to part and we miss
him,
But he’s happy at home above;
When this life on earth is
ended,
W e shall meet him in that
home above.
He’ll be waiting for us in lieav
en,
Longing for us to come,
And he’ll welcome us in glory
W hen we reach our heavenly
home.
Some sweet day we’ll go and
see him,
Some sweet day bye and bye;
Oh how glad tw’ill be the
meeting
Where we’ll never have to die.

True Mothers”
As Mothers Day is drawing
nigh, I have been thinking <>f
the mothers of the Bible, True
Mothers”. No more beautiful
stories have ever been written
than those which are found in
the pages of the Bible. There
is the story of the mother of
Moses, who with her own fing¬
ers wove the little ark, pitched
it within and without with
pitch, carried it in her arms to
the river’s brink, placed her
little boy in it and hid the ark
in the Hags at the river. It
seems a perilous place to put
a child, yet he was beneath the
watchful eye of God, and was
as safe there as we are today.
There was Hannah, whose
highest praise was that she
was known as the mother of
Samuel. Each year she made
a little coat for her boy. She
( not only eared for physical
needs, but she guarded him
1 and instructed spiritually as
well.
There Syrophoenieian moth
er, who without a promise on
which to stand, pleaded with
Jesus for her daughter who
was grievously vexed with a
devil.
There was the company of
mothers who brought their
children to Jesus that He
might bless them, and He took
them up in His arms and bless
ed them.
And there is the mother of
Jesus, who lived beautifully
before Jesus, and humanly
speaking, “if we had more
mothers like Mary, there no
doubt would he more children
like Jesus.’
“Whose love can equal the love
of a mother?
Who the devotion so loyal
and true?
W ho suffers so much with such
Joy for another.
Who works with such pleasure
as mother for you?
You hail with delight the
friendship «>f others,
You revel in love with the
sweetheart you’ve won;
Yet, where do you find a friend
ship like mother’s
Unbroken till death ealls and
life’s work is done.”
—Mother Tatum.

‘Taxidermist Too'
Dade County not only has
doctors, lawyers, carpenters,
printers,etc., hut she also has
a Taxidermist, who happens
to be none other than Clower
Sawyer of the Head River verified sec¬
tion. This fact was
Tuesday, when he brought a
crow to the Times Office that
he had mounted and ‘fxed up
so naturally that we won hi
“jump to close the door when
we would look at t for 1 ar
it would lly out the door.
Anyway Sawyer has taken a
course in this art and says he
has several animals, birds.et<*
at his home on the mountain
that he has transformed *°
life-like by means of his taxi¬
dermy. One important feature
in “mounting” Sawyer said
the filling and color of the e>e*
