D. T. Brown, who recently
underwent an operation for ap¬
pendicitis in a Chattanooga hos¬
pital, continues to improve.
Mr. W. M. Doyle is suffering
with a badly bruised ankle. He
was injured Wednesday after¬
noon when a wheel ran off a
hay rake on which he was rid¬
ing.
Mr. and Mrs. O. N. Tomlinson,
of Valdosta, Ga., who have been
visiting relatives here, returned
to their home Friday.
Miss Mattie Hixon has return¬
ed to her home on Lookout Mt.,
after a visit with friends here.
Mr and Mrs. Joe Blevins have
named their new arrival Russell

plans to go on a picnic trip Sat¬

Mrs. John B. Dugan, aged 58,
a former resident of Slygo, died
Saturday afternoon in a Chat¬
tanooga hospital. She is surviv¬
ed by five daughters, Novetta,
Cleola, Nancy, Ersaline and
Mary; one son, Virgil; sister,
Mrs. Cora Bell; two brothers,
George and Homer Daniel, and
one grandchild.
Little Wanda Jean Hixon, of
Chickamauga was a recent guest
of her grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. W. P. Cole.
Miss Clara Opal Moore has
returned home after spending
several days visiting her sister,
Mrs. Ernest Graham.
Miss Elba Erie Cole is visiting
relatives in St. Elmo, Tenn.

Cole was struck by lightning
after returning to her home,

injured.
